Individuals currently acting as members and alternate members
of the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Lyme shall hold such
office in each case until their successors have been elected and shall
have qualified as hereafter provided.
At the biennial election of Town officers of the Town of Lyme
in November 1993 two members of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall
be elected to serve for six years, two members shall be elected to
serve for four years, and one member shall be elected to serve for
two years. Thereafter, all terms shall be for six years, with either
one or two members being elected in order to keep the size of the
Board at five members.
At the biennial election of Town officers of the Town of Lyme
in November 1993 one alternate shall be elected for a term of six
years, one alternate shall be elected for a term of four years and
one alternate shall be elected for a term of two years. Thereafter,
one alternate member of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall be elected
at every biennial election, making a total of three alternates and
five regular members.
Operations of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall be in accordance
with Chapter 124, § 8-5, of the Connecticut General Statutes.
Section 9-167a and as amended of the Connecticut General Statutes
concerning minority representation of political parties shall also
apply.

Zoning Board of Appeals members and alternate members shall
be electors and shall not be members of the Planning and Zoning Commission.
