The priority one (P-1) snow route is intended to be followed during the storm. It will be used to insure that the main roads, as well as collector streets, remain clear. This snow route is not intended to keep the plow operator from cleaning any other road. Ultimate discretion is left to the operator, based on the conditions of the roads as well as the storm forecast. If the rate of snowfall allows the operator to break off of the route the clean up should be done in an organized fashion systematically covering every street in each subdivision. The operator must make one (1) complete run through the P-1 route before going to any other side streets. This route is also organized in such a fashion that there will be one (1) trip in and one (1) trip out of each listed street. The operator must not plow curb to curb until final cleanup, after the storm is over. After the operator has completed the route, they must reassess the P-1 route before they move to any other side streets. Rate of snowfall, accumulations, temperatures and storm forecast must dictate whether the operator goes through the P-1 route again.
