The Chief of Police is authorized to establish an auxiliary
police organization. The Auxiliary Police shall be composed of volunteer
members who reside within an area circumscribed by an area which is
30 miles from the Village Hall. The Auxiliary Police shall assist
members of the Police Department and perform services under the direction
and control of the Chief of Police. Auxiliary Police members shall
have no authority to make arrests or to carry firearms and shall receive
no compensation. The Chief of Police, subject to the approval of the
Village Board, shall promulgate the rules and regulations of the Auxiliary
Police.
