The Police Department may permit the installation and maintenance in the Police station of a double circuit fire and burglar alarm system, consisting of uniform equipment and signals of standard make, at the expense of persons using such system and at no cost to the City.

Any fire or burglar alarm system, or part thereof or equipment therefor, installed or to be installed in the Police station, shall at all times be subject to the approval of the Chief of Police who is authorized to make rules and regulations pertaining to the maintenance and use of any such system and to require its repair and replacement as may be necessary from time to time for effective functioning.

Nothing in this Article shall require the City or the Police Department to continue the operation of the fire and burglar alarm system. The system may be discontinued whenever the Chief of Police in his/her discretion deems it necessary or desirable to discontinue it for the efficient operation of the Police Department.
