[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Committee of the Township of Little Egg Harbor 1-11-2018 by Ord. No. 2018-01. Amendments noted where applicable.]
There is hereby established a Commercial Revitalization Board of the Township of Little Egg Harbor.
A. 
The Commercial Revitalization Board shall consist of 12 regular voting members and up to three alternate voting members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Township Committee. The Committee shall include the Mayor or his/her designee; the Zoning Board Chairman or his/her designee; and the Planning Board Chairman or his/her designee. All other members shall be residents of the Township of Little Egg Harbor and to the extent practicable, the Board shall be comprised so as to provide representation from all areas of the Township. The terms of all regular voting members of the Commercial Revitalization Board shall be for a term of one year, and shall terminate on December 31 of the year of appointment.
B. 
The Commercial Revitalization Board shall also include a member of the governing body, chosen by it, to serve as voting/liaison member of the Commercial Revitalization Board. The liaison shall report to the governing body and the public on a monthly basis by Committee report to advise on activities and recommendations of the Commercial Revitalization Board.
C. 
In addition to the 12 regular voting members and the alternate voting members, which may number up to three, there shall be up to three nonvoting ex officio members who may be nonresidents of Little Egg Harbor who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Township Committee in the event that the Mayor and Committee believe that such nonresidents have an expertise or perspective which may be beneficial to the Board. The terms of the ex officio members shall terminate on December 31 of the year of appointment.
D. 
The Commercial Revitalization Board shall annually elect from its membership a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and a Secretary. All positions to be unpaid. The Committee liaison shall not be eligible to serve in any of those offices or positions. No one shall serve in any officer position for more than three consecutive years.
A. 
The Commercial Revitalization Board shall meet at least quarterly and nothing shall preclude the Board from meeting more frequently if deemed necessary. The Commercial Revitalization Board may, with the consent of the governing body by resolution, create subcommittees. All meetings of the Commercial Revitalization Board and/or any subcommittee of the Commercial Revitalization Board shall be advertised on the municipal website as open to the public and shall be held in the Little Egg Harbor Municipal Building.
B. 
Duties and responsibilities. The Commercial Revitalization Board shall be responsible for advising the Mayor and Township Committee on programs and policies which will promote, attract and retain business in locations that are consistent with the Master Plan and land use regulations of the Township. Primary goals are to develop the Township's commercial community, maintain and improve residents' quality of life and in doing so, keep focus with the constant appreciation of the unique attributes the Township has to offer local, regional and national businesses, promote and encourage business development, including identifying and removing unnecessary obstacles to the creation and development of smart business opportunities in the Township.
