The definition of golf cart set forth in § 23.33(1)(fm), Wis. Stats., shall apply to this chapter.
Subject to § 209-3 herein, a golf cart may be operated on any Town highway which has a speed limit of 25 mph or less. A golf cart may not be operated on any state highway or county highway, regardless of speed limit, or any Town highway that has a speed limit higher than 25 mph.
The operation of a golf cart on a Town highway pursuant to § 209-2 herein shall be subject to the following requirements:
A. 
The operator must be at least 16 years of age.
B. 
The golf cart shall be operated with illuminated headlights and taillights if in operation during hours of darkness as that term is defined in § 340.01(23), Wis. Stats.
C. 
The golf cart shall be operated as close as practicable to the right-hand edge of the paved roadway, except when preparing for a left turn.
D. 
The golf cart shall display a slow-moving vehicle sign pursuant to § 347.245(1) and (2), Wis. Stats.
E. 
The golf cart shall be operated in a safe manner and in conformance with the rules of the road.
A. 
A golf cart operated on a Town highway pursuant to § 209-2 herein may not cross another highway except as follows:
(1) 
The highway being crossed is a Town highway with a speed limit of 25 mph or less.
B. 
The golf cart shall stop and yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching on the highway before crossing the highway.
C. 
Signs approved by the DOT shall be erected by the Town to mark the crossing point on both sides of each highway golf cart operation is permitted.
