This chapter is the "Local Law Establishing a Planning Board
in the Village of Dering Harbor."
A.
The Board of Trustees finds that the orderly development of the Village
of Dering Harbor requires the establishment of a Planning Board.
B.
Accordingly, the Board of Trustees finds and determines that pursuant
to § 7-718 of the Village Law of the State of New York a
Planning Board be and herewith is established.
A.
Pursuant to Article 7, § 7-718, of the Village Law of the
State of New York the Planning Board shall consist of five members.
B.
The term of office. The term of office of the five Planning Board
members shall be as provided in the Village Law Article 7, § 7-718,
and the members thereof shall be appointed by resolution.
C.
Compensation. The Planning Board members shall serve without compensation.

The Planning Board is given jurisdiction pursuant to Village
Law Article 7, §§ 7-718, 7-728, 7-730 and 7-732.
The Planning Board may retain an attorney and/or professional
engineers by resolution and where budget provision is made therefor
by the Board of Trustees.
This chapter shall take effect upon its filing with the Secretary
of State.
