For the purpose of this chapter, "littering" is defined as depositing in or upon any street, beach, inland waters or public place any petroleum products, refuse, garbage, dirt, filth, waste, rubbish, or empty container of any kind. Littering is prohibited in the Village of Dering Harbor, and no person shall cause, permit or suffer any littering; provided, however, that nothing herein contained shall be deemed to prevent normal road construction, maintenance and repair.

A violation of this chapter shall constitute an offense, and any person found to be guilty of such violation shall be subject to a fine of not to exceed $250.
This chapter shall take effect immediately.
