Township of Muhlenberg, PA Article I Noxious and Offensive Acts

§ 248-1 Noxious and offensive activities prohibited.

Any activity in Muhlenberg Township, including but not limited to public gatherings, sporting events, amusement events and musical events, which is noxious or offensive by reason of odor, dust, smoke, soot, gas, vibration or noise which escapes from the premises, is hereby prohibited.

§ 248-2 Activities involving internal-combustion engines prohibited after certain hour.

Any activity consisting of public gatherings, sporting events, amusement events and musical events in Muhlenberg Township involving the use of any internal-combustion engine causing noise and vibration to escape from the premises shall be prohibited after the hour of 11:15 p.m., prevailing time.

§ 248-3 Muffler device required.

Any internal-combustion engine involved in any public gathering, sporting event, amusement event or musical event in Muhlenberg Township shall be equipped with a muffler device, effective March 1, 1977.

§ 248-4 Violations and penalties.

Any person, firm, corporation or other entity which shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall be subject, upon conviction before a Magisterial District Judge, to pay a fine of not more than $300 and costs of prosecution and, in default of the payment of such fine and costs, to imprisonment in the County Jail for not more than 90 days.
