The purpose of this Part 3 is to permit the regulation and control of vehicular travel by the Township on private properties of 10 contiguous acres in size or more where requested by the property owner and approved by the Chief of Police, provided that the property has been posted in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Transportation of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
As authorized by Section 6113 of the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code, 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 6113, the owner of any real property which is 10 contiguous acres in size or more may request the Police Department of the Township to enforce the observance of speed limits and traffic control devices on its property. Upon approval of such request by the Chief of Police of the Township, the Police Department shall enforce the observance of speed limits and traffic control devices on such property.
Any person failing to observe speed limits or traffic control devices on private property on which observance thereof is enforced as provided at § 326-35 above shall be in violation of this Part 3 and shall be subject to the same fines, costs and punishment as set forth in the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code for said violations.
