The RL, or Low-Density Residential District, occurs in those areas of the township designated in the Master Plan for the Non-Pinelands Area as low-density residential areas not to exceed a gross density of one (1) unit per acre, or in those locations where the lot sizes of existing residential uses are greater than one (1) acre or in those locations where future residential development at a low-density would be appropriate.
A. 
Within the RL District, land may be used and buildings or structures may be used, altered or erected for the following uses.
(1) 
Single-family, detached dwellings.
(2) 
Clustered residential development, in accordance with Article XIV of this chapter.

(3) 
Agriculture.
(4) 
Recreation facilities, low intensive or intensive.
(5) 
Public facilities including roads, utilities and emergency services such as a rescue squad station, fire station, etc.
(6) 
Institutional uses including churches, etc.
(7) 
Model homes or sales offices may be allowed temporarily during the period necessary to show and sell new homes within that subdivision.
(8) 
Accessory uses such as a professional office, studio or home occupation, within or attached to the main dwelling unit, and any other uses incidental to any of the permitted uses listed in this Article.

A. 
Residential dwelling units proposed for development within the RL District shall be subject to the Area, Yard and Bulk Requirements summarized on Schedule 2, found as an attachment to this chapter.
B. 
Nonresidential uses proposed for development within the RL District shall be subject to the Area, Yard and Bulk Requirements for Nonresidential Uses, summarized on Schedule 3, found as an attachment to this chapter.
C. 
Side- and rear-yard setbacks shall be fifteen (15) feet for any residential accessory structure exceeding 400 square feet in total area.

All development proposed within the RL District shall conform with all applicable standards under Article XVI of this chapter.

Open space shall be provided in accordance with Section 294-124 of Article XVI of this chapter.

Open space shall be owned and maintained in accordance with § 294-125 of Article XVI of this chapter.
