Pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law § 10(1)(ii)(a)(1)
and § 10(1)(ii)(d)(3), the Town of Geddes is permitted to
adopt a local law relating to the mode of selection, term of office,
and residency requirements applicable to its officers and employees.
Upon the effective date of this article, the term of office
of the Town of Geddes Highway Superintendent is hereby changed from
two to four years. The change in the Town of Geddes Highway Superintendent's
term of office will apply to the Highway Superintendent elected at
the next biennial election for the office of Town of Geddes Highway
Superintendent and to all Highway Superintendents elected thereafter.
Pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law § 10(1)(ii)(a)(1)
and § 10(1)(ii)(d)(3), this article shall supersede Town
Law § 24 with respect to the term of office of the Town
of Geddes Highway Superintendent by changing the said term of office
from two to four years.
