There is hereby created and established in the Township of Winslow the position of Supervising Code Enforcement Officer.
Under direction of the Administrator the Supervising Code Enforcement Officer performs and supervises the work of code enforcement officers engaged in field inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with various municipal ordinances (other than the State Sanitary Code, State Uniform Construction Code or any of its subcodes or State Fire Code); does related work as required.
The Supervising Code Enforcement Officer shall be appointed by the appointing authority with the approval of the Mayor and Township Committee.
The duties of the Supervising Code Enforcement Officer shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
A. 
Performs and supervises the work of code enforcement officers engaged in field inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with various municipal ordinances.
B. 
Provides assignments and instructions to staff and supervises work performance.
C. 
Interprets codes and ordinances.
D. 
Informs higher level supervisor of anticipated vacancies, increase in workload or other circumstances to obtain replacements, temporary help or additional staff.
E. 
Supervises the enforcement of municipal ordinances.
F. 
Conducts and supervises the conduct of special investigations.
G. 
Conducts health and safety inspections in response to complaints.
H. 
Establishes and supervises the establishment of inspection schedules.
I. 
Coordinates inspection activities with other public agencies.
J. 
Initiates legal action against violators of various municipal ordinances.
K. 
Presents inspection findings in court cases.
L. 
Provides testimony in court.
M. 
Prepares and supervises the preparation of correspondence and reports.
N. 
Supervises the establishment and maintenance of records and files.
O. 
Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
The Supervising Code Enforcement Officer shall be paid a salary fixed and adopted by the governing body in the annual salary ordinance.
