[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Council of the Township of East Brunswick 9-26-83 as Ord. No. 83-534]
It shall be unlawful for any person to willfully or maliciously torture, torment, beat, kick, strike, mutilate, injure, disable or kill any dog used by the Police Department of the Township of East Brunswick in the performance of the functions or duties of such Department or to interfere with or meddle with any such dog while being used by said Department or any member thereof in the performance of any of the functions or duties of said Department or of any officer or member of said Department.
Any person violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding Five Hundred ($500.00) Dollars or imprisonment for a term not exceeding sixty (60) days, or both, at the discretion of the Municipal Judge of the Township of East Brunswick.
