A.
Minimum fee. There shall be, except as otherwise provided herein,
a minimum fee of $25 for the issuance of a building permit.
B.
In addition to the minimum fee as stated in Subsection A, there shall be due an additional amount as follows:

(1)
$0.12 for each square foot of a new single-family residential structure,
for the first 1,500 square feet.
(2)
An additional fee of $0.09 for each square foot over 1,500 up to
3,000 square feet.
(3)
In addition thereto, a fee of $0.07 for each square foot over 3,000
square feet.
(4)
The above square footage rates include the square footage of basements,
living areas and garages, enclosed porches and all other areas of
buildings which are enclosed and is cumulative.
C.
Exception for agricultural purposes.
(1)
An exception to the above-referred-to fees shall be for accessory
structures used for farming or agricultural purposes when, in such
case, the fee for issuance of a building permit for farming or agricultural
purposes shall be a total fee of $25, provided that the applicant
(owner of the land upon which the farm or agricultural building is
to be built) meets the following criteria:
(a)
Presentation to the Ordinance Officer of a Schedule F from Form
1040 of the prior year's tax return filed with the Internal Revenue
Service or other similar proof.
(b)
Presentation of proof that the farming or agricultural use is
a family farm dedicated to the raising of crops, raising of farm animals
and/or domesticated fowl. "Farm animals" do not include animals used
for riding or training.
(2)
If the applicant cannot provide sufficient proof as indicated, then
the fee shall be as required.
D.
Commercial, industrial and multifamily residential structures and
additions thereto. The permit fee for commercial and/or industrial
structures and/or multifamily residential structures and additions
thereto shall be calculated on the gross square footage of the entire
building times the fees as per below. These rates are cumulative in
nature, i.e., each category shall be paid to its maximum up to the
total gross square footage of all stories of the entire building,
including basement and garage areas, if any, and shall be in addition
to the minimum fee.

(1)
A fee of $0.27 per square foot for all square footage between one
square foot and 1,000 square feet.
(2)
A fee of $0.22 per square foot for all square footage between 1,001
square feet and 2,000 square feet.
(3)
A fee of $0.17 per square foot for all square footage between 2,001
square feet and 3,000 square feet.
(4)
A fee of $0.12 per square foot for all square footage between 3,001
square feet and 5,000 square feet.
(5)
A fee of $0.07 per square foot for all square footage between 5,001
square feet and 10,000 square feet.
(6)
A fee of $0.06 per square foot for all square footage between 10,001
square feet and 20,000 square feet.
(7)
A fee of $0.05 per square foot for all square footage between 20,001
square feet and 50,000 square feet.
(8)
A fee of $0.04 per square foot for all square footage between 50,001
square feet and 100,000 square feet.
(9)
A fee of $0.03 per square foot for all square footage over 100,000
square feet.
E.
Residential, commercial and industrial remodeling of existing portions
of structures. In addition to the minimum fee, when construction is
going to be done to remodel existing square footage, there shall be
charged and collected in addition to the minimum fee:
(1)
No fee for remodeling costing less than $2,000, not even the minimum.
(2)
$10 for work costing $2,000 or more but less than $6,000.
(3)
$15 for work costing $6,000 or more but less than $15,000.
(4)
For work costing $15,000 or more, $15 plus $3 for each additional
$1,000 of cost or part thereof.
F.
There shall be a flat rate, not including the minimum fee, for the
following types of structures:
(1)
Demolition of structure: $10 per structure.
G.
Charitable uses. Excepted from all building permit fees enumerated
herein are the building and/or remodeling of buildings uses for charitable
purposes, such as churches, school, firehouses, etc.
H.
Building permit fees for structures other than residence or commercial
buildings:
