The office of Code Enforcement Officer is hereby created.

The Director of Public Safety shall designate a member of the Department of Public Safety to serve as Code Enforcement Officer for the City and may designate such deputy or deputies as may be necessary to perform such duties.

The Code Enforcement Officer shall perform all duties required by this Code and such other duties as from time to time may be required by the City Council.

The Code Enforcement Officer, in the discharge of any official duties and upon compliance with any applicable provision of law, and upon proper identification, shall have authority to enter any building, structure or premises at any reasonable hour.

The Code Enforcement Officer may request and shall receive so far as may be necessary, in the discharge of official duties, the assistance and cooperation of other Officers of the City.
