Borough of Ship Bottom, NJ Chapter 2.48 Department of Public Property and Community Affairs

§ 2.48.010 Establishment.

There is established a department of public property and community affairs. The head of the department shall have the title of chairperson, director, or other designation and shall have the powers and duties of department heads as set forth in Section 2.40.020 of this title. The department of public property and community affairs shall be responsible for all of the items a set forth in Sections 2.48.020 and 2.48.030.

§ 2.48.020 Division of public property.

Within the department of public property and community affairs there shall be a division of public property. Under the direction and supervision of the Borough chairperson, the division shall:

A. Operate, maintain, repair, and supervise renovations, construction and storage for all Borough-owned buildings and property, except the Borough water plant.

B. Provide custodial and janitorial services therefor, including office quarters, waterfront property and all other real estate.

§ 2.48.030 Division of community affairs.

There shall be a division of community affairs within the department of public property and community affairs, the head of which shall be the chairperson. Under the direction of the chairperson, the division shall:

A. Supervise the Borough zoning officer and construction officials;

B. Serve as liaison with the Long Beach Township health department;

C. Serve as liaison with the land use review board;

D. Serve as the liaison with other organizations within the community as deemed appropriate by the governing body and the chairperson of the department of public property and community affairs.
