The office of Deputy Township Clerk of the Township of West
Deptford is hereby created.
The Deputy Township Clerk shall be appointed by the Township
Committee for a term of one year, commencing as of the first day of
January of the year in which he or she is appointed, and shall serve
after the expiration of such term until a successor shall be appointed
and shall qualify. Any vacancy in said office occurring other than
by expiration of term shall be filled in like manner, but for the
unexpired term only.
A.Â
The Deputy Township Clerk shall have all of the powers and duties
of the Township Clerk during absence or disability of the latter and
shall also have such other powers and duties as shall be prescribed,
from time to time, by the Township Administrator or by the Township
Committee.
B.Â
The Deputy Township Clerk shall have the power and duty to execute
all documents required by any law or ordinance to be executed by the
Township Clerk and affix the seal of the Township thereto whenever
required and shall have such further power and authority as may be
provided by statute.
The Deputy Township Clerk shall receive such compensation as
shall be prescribed by the Township Committee according to ordinance
from time to time.
