Regular meetings of the Mayor and Board of Commissioners of the City of Weatherford shall be held during the last week of each month at 8:00 a.m. in the Municipal Building, unless a different time and place is so designated by the Board, and may be adjourned to subsequent dates and times as deemed necessary by the Mayor and the Board of Commissioners in compliance with the "Oklahoma Open Meeting Law".
Special meetings may be called at any time by the Mayor or by any three of the Commissioners.
The elective officers of the City of Weatherford shall consist of the Mayor as ex officio Commissioner and four other Commissioners; one Commissioner to be elected from each of the four wards of the city, but are voted on and elected at large, all for three year terms.

The Mayor and Board of Commissioners shall be entitled to and receive such compensation as may be authorized by ordinance consistent with Oklahoma State Statutes and the Constitution of the State of Oklahoma.

The Mayor and Board of Commissioners shall, within one year of their election or reelection, attend at least one training session for elected officials sponsored by the Oklahoma Municipal League or a related agency. All approved training session expenditures shall be paid by the city. If the Mayor or Board of Commissioners fails to meet the training session requirements within the first year of election or reelection, he shall thereupon cease to hold office.

The appointive officers of the City of Weatherford by the Mayor and/or Board of Commissioners shall be as follows:
a. 
City Administrator,
b. 
Municipal Judge,
c. 
City Attorney, and
d. 
City Treasurer/Clerk.

The City Administrator shall appoint and remove all heads of departments and all subordinate officers and employees of the city with the exception of those reserved by the Weatherford City Charter for the description of the Board of Commissioners, with the Mayor having the final approval.
The Mayor shall be Chief Administrative Officer and Head of the Administrative Branch of the city government. He shall execute the laws and ordinances and administer the government of the city, and shall be responsible to the Commissioners. The office of Mayor shall be considered a full time position with the city and shall be eligible for all benefits offered to full time employees.

The Mayor and each Commissioner must be at least 25 years of age; a bonafide resident of the city for the immediate past three years prior to the election, and reside in the respective ward for at least one year immediately prior to the election. Qualifications must be met from and after the time of filing for office or selection to fill a vacancy.

Every officer of the city before entering upon the discharge of the duties of his office, shall take and subscribe to an oath or affirmation of office.

The Treasurer of the City of Weatherford and all other officers and employees of the city shall be covered by a blanket bond in an amount determined by motion or resolution of the Board of Commissioners.

The premiums for each such bonds shall be paid by the city.
