1. 
Every person who, for wages or hire in the service of another, shall drive any taxicab shall first obtain a license to do so. No license shall be issued until an application has been completed in writing, filed, and approved by the Weatherford Police Department. The City Clerk, or his designated agent, shall issue said license after approval by the Weatherford Police Department. The application shall include the following information:
a. 
The name and address of the applicant;
b. 
The occupations and employments pursued by the applicant during the preceding five-year period;
c. 
Whether or not the applicant has had any collision or accident in which any person or property was injured or damaged and a description of the collision or accident in each case;
d. 
Whether or not the applicant has ever been charged with or convicted of any crime, and if so, the nature of the crime;
e. 
Whether or not the applicant has ever had a driver or other license revoked or cancelled and for what reason;
f. 
Whether or not the applicant has been convicted of violating any city ordinance within the past year;
g. 
The applicant will furnish a copy of a valid state driver's license;
h. 
The applicant will furnish the number of times and places, if any, that the applicant has been arrested or convicted for violations of the traffic laws of the city or state;
i. 
The applicant will furnish an official state driver's license history check;
j. 
And the applicant will furnish an official state criminal history check. All cost related to the application process shall be paid by the applicant.
2. 
If, upon examination of the application and the references, the Weatherford Police Department determines that the applicant is competent to serve as a taxicab driver, that the representations made in the application are true, the applicant will be eligible to operate a taxicab service in the City of Weatherford.
3. 
The driver's license allowing an individual to drive a taxicab shall expire on June 30th of every calendar year and the applicant shall reapply as outlined above.

1. 
A city driver license to drive a taxicab shall be revoked by the City Clerk, or his designated agent, for any of the following after confirmation of violations by the Weatherford Police Department:
a. 
Upon a felony conviction, after the issuance of the license, of a violation of any federal or state law;
b. 
When any information required in above application is shown to be false;
c. 
For operating a motor vehicle for hire while consuming any alcoholic beverage;
d. 
Upon conviction of the offense of driving, operating or being in actual physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substance, as provided in Title 47 of the Oklahoma Statues section 11-902 et seq.;
For leaving the scene of a traffic collision;
For allowing or permitting another person to use his/her license;
For obliterating or erasing any official entry on his/her license.
2. 
The licensee shall have the right of appeal to the City Commission by filing with the City Clerk within three days of such revocation, a notice in writing that he/she is appealing to the City Commission, which revocation shall then be heard by the City Commission at its next regular or special meeting and the findings of the City Commission shall be final.

Every person engaged in the business of operating a taxicab shall exhibit, by attaching to the vehicle in a conspicuous place on the inside thereof, a card setting forth the schedule of rates charged for the use or hire of such vehicle.

No driver or operator of any taxicab, or other vehicle used for transporting passengers for hire, shall at any time allow any passenger to ride in the front seat of the vehicle unless the back seat is occupied by two or more persons. No person, except an immediate family member of the operator, shall be allowed to ride in any taxicab except a bona fide paying passenger en route to a definite destination.
