There shall be created in the Borough of Wenonah the office of Tax Assessor in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 393 of the Laws of 1981.[1]

The Mayor, with consent of Borough Council, shall appoint a Tax Assessor and such Deputy Tax Assessors as may be determined necessary to fulfill the needs of the Borough of Wenonah.
The Tax Assessor and his deputy or deputies shall be compensated in such amount as the Mayor and Borough Council may establish in the annual salary ordinance.
The term of office of the Tax Assessor and his deputy or deputies shall be in accordance with state statute. Vacancies in office, other than due to expiration of term, shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired term.
In order to hold office as the Tax Assessor or Deputy Tax Assessor, the person to be appointed shall qualify under all appropriate statutes and regulations.
The Deputy Tax Assessor or Assessors shall act under the direct supervision of the Tax Assessor and shall assist the Tax Assessor in the fulfillment of his duties.
