All properties within the Borough of Wenonah having an automatic
fire suppression system shall be equipped with a key box. Automatic
shall mean electronically sends a signal to the Fire Department, Police
Department or Central Dispatch Center requesting response of the Fire
Department. Buildings of Use Groups R-3 and R-4 as described in the
Uniform Construction Code shall be exempt from this requirement. Building
owners exempt from this requirement may install a key box with the
approval of the Fire Chief.
The key box shall be of a Underwriters' Laboratories (UL)
type and approved by the Borough of Wenonah Fire Official. The key
box shall be installed in a location approved by the Borough of Wenonah
Fire Chief or his or her designate.
The key boxes shall contain keys to the following:
All existing buildings shall comply within one year of the effective
date of this chapter. All newly constructed buildings not yet occupied,
or buildings currently under construction, shall comply immediately.
