A. 
Established — Public Works Committee. There is hereby established the Public Works Committee to serve in an advisory capacity making recommendations to the Mayor and Council for all approvals regarding all street projects, buildings, and grounds owned by the City of Berkeley. The scope of the Public Works Committee is to review and make recommendations which shall include the maintenance of existing streets, buildings and properties, planning, improvements, budgeting, purchase of materials, and other reasonably-related areas and subjects the City Manager may deem fit. The Public Works Committee shall be voting members, composed of one (1) member of the City Council, City Manager, Public Works Director, and three (3) residents. Public Works Staff shall include, Street Superintendent, Facilities Manager, and a Neighborhood Preservation Inspector.
B. 
Term Of Appointment.
1. 
The term of these voting members shall be as follows:
a. 
Councilmember — Election Term.
b. 
City Manager — Indefinite.
c. 
Public Works Director — Chair — Indefinite.
d. 
Resident — Co-Chair — 3 years.
e. 
Resident — 2 years.
f. 
Resident — 1 year.
2. 
Three (3) members shall be residents appointed by the Mayor with the consent of the majority of the City Council; and
3. 
The three (3) appointed committee members shall receive no compensation.
