The position of Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer is hereby
created in and for the Borough of West Cape May pursuant to the provisions
of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq.

The Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer shall possess the qualifications
set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.2 and the State regulations adopted
pursuant thereto as well as any other qualifications which may be
established by the Board of Commissioners. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.13,
no person shall be appointed or reappointed as Chief Financial Officer
unless he holds a municipal finance officer certificate issued pursuant
to N.J.S.A. 40A:9-140.1 et seq.

The Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer shall be appointed by
the Board of Commissioners. The term of office shall be for four years
except where that person has obtained tenure pursuant to N.J.S.A.
40A:9-140.1 et seq.

The annual salary of the Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer shall
be as established in the annual salary ordinance of the Borough of
West Cape May.

The Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer shall be the chief financial
officer for the Borough of West Cape May and shall have the following
duties in addition to those imposed by law:
a.
The custody, investment and disbursement of all municipal funds;
b. Operation and supervision of the Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer's
office; c. Maintenance of all proper budgetary and fiscal records;
d. Payment of all vouchers after approval thereof by the Board of
Commissioners; and e. Such other duties as may be acquired by the
Board of Commissioners.

The Treasurer/Chief Financial Officer shall be directly responsible
to the Borough Commissioner who is designated as the Director of Revenue
and Finance.
