An ordinance further regulating the issuance of dog licenses
to residents that are keepers of a dog within the Borough of Moonachie
is hereby established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:3-69.1, et seq.

This Chapter shall be known and cited by its title: "DOG LICENSING
LATE FEE". The code hereby established and adopted by this ordinance
is in addition to the Licensing Provisions of the Revised General
Ordinances of the Borough of Moonachie and is referred to in same.

A "KEEPER" of a dog or dogs that are subject to the dog licensing provisions as herein above mentioned, shall submit an application for a dog license before February 1st of each calendar year. Failure or refusal to obtain the requisite dog license(s) before February 1st shall constitute a violation of subsection 8-1.2 of the Code of the Borough of Moonachie.

A "KEEPER" that submits an application for registration tags
after February 1st of each calendar year shall pay a late fee in the
amount of $10 for the issuance of the license and registration tags.
The late fee shall also apply to first-time keepers on the 11th day
after purchasing a dog(s) of licensing age as defined in the Licensing
Provision of the Revised General Ordinances of the Borough of Moonachie.

Any person or keeper who violates the dog licensing provision
of the Revised General Ordinances of the Borough of Moonachie shall
be liable for a penalty of not less than $100, nor more than $500
for each violation. Each unlicensed dog subject to the dog licensing
provision shall constitute separate offense.
