1. 
Standby generators affixed to the ground and used to power single-family residential dwellings for temporary periods of time during power outages shall require the following:
A. 
Permits shall be required for all electrical connections to a dwelling.
B. 
If a property is located within a residential development with a homeowners' association, a letter from the homeowners' association shall be required to be provided with any application.
C. 
Standby generators may only be located in a rear yard, or side yard not directly abutting a street or if abutting a street as long as the generator is screened with landscaping acceptable to the Township.
D. 
Standby generators shall be set back at least 21 feet from the side and rear property lines (or 21 feet from a residential dwelling in the case of a condominium community) with any noise caused by such generator being measured less than 57 dB at the property line or residence. A sound buffer may be required if sound levels exceed 57 dB.
E. 
Portable residential standby generators not affixed to the ground shall not be regulated by this Part.
