This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the "Abington
Township Contractor Anti-Discrimination Ordinance."
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
A for-profit or not-for-profit entity that has a Township
contract.
Abington Township.
A.
All contracts
between the Township and contractors will include the following nondiscrimination
clause:

During the term of this Contract, Contractor agrees as follows:

Contractor shall not discriminate against any employee, applicant
for employment, independent contractor, or any other person because
of actual or perceived race, color, religious creed, ancestry, sex,
national origin, handicap or disability, use of guide or support animals
because of blindness, deafness or physical handicap of the user or
because the user is a handler or trainer of support of guide animals,
or because of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.

B.
The Township
shall not contract for public goods or services that do not include
the contractor anti-discrimination provision.
C.
Township
departments that contract for public goods or services shall amend
their procurement procedures to enforce this chapter.
D.
Any contract
or contract renewal entered into the Township on or after the effective
date of this chapter shall include a binding agreement consistent
with this section.
