The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Hempstead
may appoint and define the powers and duties and fix the salary of
the Village Assessor, who shall exercise the powers granted and the
duties imposed by such Board notwithstanding any provision of this
chapter to the contrary.
The Board of Trustees hereby creates the position of Deputy
Village Assessor. The Deputy Village Assessor shall perform such official
duties as may be assigned by the Village Assessor. In the case of
the absence or disability of the Village Assessor, the Deputy Village
Assessor shall perform all of the duties of the Village Assessor as
the Board of Trustees shall direct.
