[Adopted 5-17-1974 as Ch. 25, Art. III, of the 1974 Code]
The office of Deputy Municipal Clerk is hereby created in accordance with the provisions of N.J.S.A. 40A:9-135.
The said Deputy Municipal Clerk shall be appointed by the Township Committee and shall serve for a term of one year commencing January 1 of each year.

The annual compensation for said office, which compensation shall be paid monthly, shall be determined by the governing body from time to time.[1]

The Municipal Clerk's office shall be located in the Lacey Township Municipal Building and shall be open for business between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., prevailing time, on every day of the week except Saturday and Sunday.

The Deputy Municipal Clerk shall have all the powers and perform all the duties of the Municipal Clerk during such times and for such specific periods as the Municipal Clerk shall be absent. In addition thereto, the Deputy Municipal Clerk shall attend all meetings of the Township Committee and shall be responsible for the preparation of minutes and shall, together with the Municipal Clerk, keep a record of all proceedings of the Township Committee.
