[Adopted 7-27-1988 as Sec. 1 of Ord. No. 37-88 (Ch. 25, Art. XXXVIII, of the 1974 Code)]
There is hereby created the position of Motor Broom Driver in the Department of Public Works for the Township of Lacey.
A. 
Duties. The Motor Broom Driver, under direction, shall drive and operate a motorized sweeping machine that cleans streets and other areas of trash and other accumulations, and, as needed, shall clean, check, service and make minor repairs to the equipment; shall perform manual and unskilled labor occasionally or in connection with equipment operation work; and shall perform other related work as required, and shall operate powered equipment and drive other trucks as required.
B. 
Qualifications. To be appointed to the position of Motor Broom Driver, an individual must:
(1) 
Have a valid New Jersey driver's license and shall have passed any and all tests required by the State of New Jersey concerning the operation of trucks and related construction vehicles.
(2) 
Possess the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
(3) 
Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects.
The annual salary for the position of Motor Broom Driver shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the terms and provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
