A.
There is hereby created the position of Principal
Clerk-Typist of the Township of Lacey.
B.
The duties of said Principal Clerk-Typist of the Township
of Lacey shall be to, under direction, perform highly responsible
and varied typing and clerical work requiring thorough knowledge of
relevant rules and regulations and the frequent exercise of independent
judgment and/or to have charge of a small clerical unit; perform related
work as required; organize assigned work and develop effective work
methods; review, check and certify reports, applications and other
documents for correctness where difficult determinations are concerned;
handle special requests for information in accordance with prescribed
rules and regulations; relieve the supervisory officer of office details;
type information which is difficult to arrange, including large and
complex statistical tables; type technical, scientific, financial,
statistical and other statements and reports, correspondence, memorandums,
payrolls, opinions, orders, bills, warrants, contracts, specifications,
case records, forms, manuscripts, legal documents, decisions and briefs
from varied types of copy and transcribing machines; interview and
transact routine business with persons who may call at the office;
prepare agendas of meetings; assist in the planning and, when so required,
in the revision of clerical procedures and office routines; compile
statistical and other data; receive, review and adjust complaints;
prepare requisitions; answer inquiries; if in charge of a small clerical
unit, guide, instruct and assign tasks; participate in and be responsible
for the work of the staff; compile data for budgets and reports; make
special studies of certain operations and report findings; handle
routine correspondence; prepare periodic statements; make decisions
requiring thorough knowledge of the organization; and maintain, classify,
index and cross-reference records and files.
C.
The annual salary for the position of Principal Clerk-Typist
of the Township of Lacey shall be determined from time to time by
the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions
of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[2]

Assessing Clerk in the office of the Board of Assessors of the Township
of Lacey.
B.
The duties of said Principal Assessing Clerk in the
office of the Board of Assessors in the Township of Lacey shall be
to, under direction, perform highly responsible and varied clerical
work involved in the assessment of real and personal property requiring
thorough knowledge of relevant rules and regulations and the frequent
exercise of independent judgment and/or to have charge of a small
assessing clerical unit; perform related work as required; when the
work program has been established, organize assigned work and develop
effective work methods; review work methods; review, check and certify
reports, applications and other documents for correctness where difficult
determinations are concerned; handie special requests for information
in accordance with prescribed rules and regulations; relieve the supervisory
officer of office detail; interview and transact routine business
with persons who may call at the office; assist in the planning and,
when so required, in the revision of office procedure and routines;
receive, review and adjust complaints; prepare requisitions; if in
charge of a small assessing clerical unit, guide, instruct and assign
tasks; participate in and be responsible for the work of the staff;
compile data for budgets and reports; make special studies of certain
operations and report findings; handle routine correspondence; prepare
periodic statements; prepare, review and keep up-to-date the Tax Assessor's
list and tax duplicates; make entries in tax books in accordance with
prescribed procedure; prepare lists of properties to be assessed and
make proper entries in field books; supervise and/or perform the work
involved in the distribution of personal property forms; may assist
in the preparation of counter claims to tax appeals; may prepare and
complete forms containing information for transference into computers;
review completed reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies with
electronic data processing personnel; maintain a record of sales of
local real estate, of veterans exemptions, of State and County Appeal
Board decisions and of application for the apportionment of taxes;
and maintain indexes and cross-reference records and files.
C.
The annual salary for the position of Principal Assessing
Clerk in the office of the Board of Assessors shall be determined
from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance
with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]

There is hereby created the position of Assistant
Assessor in the office of the Board of Assessors of the Township of
Lacey.
B.
The duties of said Assistant Assessor in the office
of the Board of Assessors in the Township of Lacey shall be to, under
direction, assist in establishing a system of valuations for real
property; perform related work as required; assist in determining
the related valuation of real property; make inspections of old and
partly constructed buildings for the purpose of determining alternate
valuation and building values; measure buildings to compute their
areas or content; estimate the value of buildings under construction;
keep assessment maps up to date; assist in the preparation of information
for appeals and give testimony before the County and State Tax Board;
supervise the maintenance and balancing of tax books, including changes,
the preparation of reports on building permits and the review of real
and personal property tax returns; receive visitors and give detailed
information relating to assessments; prepare suitable reports; and
establish and maintain needed records and files.
C.
The annual salary for the position of Assistant Assessor
in the office of the Board of Assessors of the Township of Lacey shall
be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall
be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance
of the Township of Lacey.[1]

Tax Clerk in the Tax Collector's office of the Township of Lacey.
B.
The duties of said Principal Tax Clerk in the office
of the Tax Collector of the Township of Lacey shall be to, under direction,
perform highly responsible and varied clerical work involved in the
computing and recording of tax payments; take the lead over subordinate
personnel and/or to have charge of a small tax clerical unit; perform
related work as required; take independent responsibility for receiving,
checking and recording rental statements from various agencies, prepare
tax title lien bills for each property listed on statements for the
amount of rental; receive, apply interest and balance bills with statements
and return receipts to agents; order repairs to tax title lien properties
which involves the checking of property, obtaining estimates from
various contractors, recording all information pertaining to repairs
and, upon completion of repairs, drawing checks to pay contractors
and enter repairs on official tax title lien cards; perform the more
difficult and responsible work involved in assisting in the preparation
of a tax sale, at a tax sale and at the conclusion of a tax sale;
review, check and certify tax documents for correctness where difficult
determinations are concerned; relieve the supervisory officer of office
detail; interview and transact business with persons who may call
at the office; take the lead over assigned personnel and be responsible
for their work; perform the highly responsible work and take the lead
in compiling worksheets in reference to equalization tables and in
entering petitions of appeal in the ledger and preparing them for
tax hearings; give assignments and instructions to assigned personnel;
and maintain, classify, index and cross-reference various tax records
and files.
C.
The annual salary for the position of Principal Tax
Clerk in the office of the Tax Collector in the office of the Township
of Lacey shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee
and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary
Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]

There is hereby created the position of Tax Clerk
in the office of the Tax Collector of the Township of Lacey.
B.
The duties of said Tax Clerk in the office of the
Tax Collector of the Township of Lacey shall be to, under direction,
perform the routine work involved in the computing and recording of
tax payments; perform related work as required; give information according
to office regulations and policies; look up needed information; open
mail and address, stamp and mail letters; review and check assigned
material for corrections and completeness; write tax and water bills
and compute interest; dispatch receipts; stamp payment of taxes, water
bills, etc., in books from cashier stubs; and keep needed records
and files.
C.
The annual salary for the position of Tax Clerk in
the office of the Tax Collector of the Township of Lacey shall be
determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be
paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of
the Township of Lacey.[1]

B.
The duties of said Assessing Clerk in the office of
the Board of Assessors in the Township of Lacey shall be to, under
direction, perform routine clerical work involved in the assessment
of real and personal property; perform related work as required; list
and compile yearly tax books and tax duplicate list book; record permits
for renovations and new constructions of buildings; assist in the
preparation of records of appeals to County and State Tax Boards,
answer inquiries and give information pertaining to tax assessments,
note dispositions of tax search records and review personal tax returns;
check the locations of personal property; prepare and complete forms
containing information for transference into computers; verify and
keep up-to-date names and addresses of owners of property; and, under
supervision, establish and keep needed records and files.
C.
The annual salary for Assessing Clerk in the office
of the Board of Assessors of the Township of Lacey shall be determined
from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance
with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
