A. 
There is hereby created the position of Tax Assessor for the Township of Lacey.
B. 
The Tax Assessor shall be appointed by the Township Committee of the Township of Lacey.
C. 
The Tax Assessor shall serve a term of office of four years commencing on the first day of July next following his appointment and ending on June 30 of the fourth year as set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148.
The duties of the Tax Assessor of the Township of Lacey shall be to assess all real property in the Township of Lacey in accordance with the appropriate state statutes and regulations in regard thereto. The Tax Assessor shall perform all the duties and obligations set forth by state law or administrative regulation concerning the performance of his duties.
To be appointed to the position of Tax Assessor for the Township of Lacey, an individual must hold a certified tax assessor's certificate from the State of New Jersey.
The salary for the Tax Assessor for the Township of Lacey shall be determined, from time to time, by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.

There is hereby created the position of Deputy Tax Assessor for the Township of Lacey.
B. 
The Deputy Tax Assessor shall be appointed by the Township Committee of the Township of Lacey.
C. 
The Deputy Tax Assessor shall serve a term of office of four years commencing on the first day of July next following his appointment and ending on June 30 of the fourth year as set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:9-148.
The duties of the Deputy Tax Assessor are to assist the Tax Assessor of the Township in assessing the real properties in the Township of Lacey in accordance with the appropriate state statutes and regulations in regard thereto. The Deputy Tax Assessor shall do all work as is required of him by the Township Tax Assessor in regard to the assessing of real properties and all various other work as is required from time to time by the Tax Assessor.
To be appointed to the position of Deputy Tax Assessor for the Township of Lacey, an individual must hold a certified tax assessor's certificate from the State of New Jersey.
