[Adopted 5-26-1983 as part of Ord. No. 9-83 (Ch. 25, Art. LV, of the 1974 Code)]
There is hereby created the position of Senior Purchasing Assistant in the Township of Lacey.
The duties of the Senior Purchasing Assistant are that, under direction, she/he takes the lead and/or performs the more responsible and complex work involved in the purchasing of materials and supplies and does related work as required.
To be appointed to the position of Senior Purchasing Assistant, an individual must meet the following requirements. He shall:
A. 
Possess two years of experience in the preparation and processing of requisitions and/or in the purchase of equipment, materials and/or supplies.
B. 
Possess a wide knowledge of the proper methods and procedures involved in the requisitioning and/or purchasing of equipment, materials and supplies.
C. 
Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or others.
D. 
Possess the ability to comprehend and analyze moderately complex supply problems and maintain adequate purchasing records.
E. 
Possess the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relations with vendors and departmental representatives.
F. 
Possess good health and freedom from disabling physical and mental defects which would impair the proper performance of the required duties or which might endanger the health and safety of oneself or others.
The salary for the Senior Purchasing Assistant shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the provisions of the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
