There is hereby created the position of Senior Police Records Clerk, Typing for the Township of Lacey.
Under the direction of a supervisory official, the Senior Police Records Clerk, Typing shall do clerical work, usually varied and maintains public records, requiring knowledge of department laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The Senior Police Records Clerk, Typing shall do related work as required.
To be appointed to the position of Senior Police Records Clerk, Typing, an individual must meet the following requirements:
A. 
Two years' experience in general clerical work or one year experience involving the supervision of the work of other clerical employees.
B. 
Possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
C. 
Possess the knowledge of office and clerical methods, practices, routines, machines and equipment; knowledge of the internal organization and established policies, procedures and regulations of the Department after a period of training.
D. 
Possess the ability to comprehend modern office and clerical methods, practices, routines, machines and equipment and the internal organization, policies, procedures and regulations; and the ability to work harmoniously with associates, subordinates, superior officials and with those persons interested in or concerned with the work of the Department.
E. 
Possess the ability to use varied common office machines in temporary assignments where skill and speed are not primary requirements and special training is not necessary; to compose routine correspondence; establish and maintain records and files; process requests for information and respond to inquiries; and ability to examine police records and assign proper classification.
F. 
Under direction, performs varied and more responsible clerical work of higher complexity involving the processing and keeping of varied public records; does related work and typing as required.
G. 
Possess the ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. American Sign Language or Braille may also be considered as acceptable forms of communication.
H. 
Persons with mental or physical disabilities are eligible as long as they can perform the essential functions of the job after reasonable accommodation is made to their known limitations. If the accommodation cannot be made because it would cause the employer undue hardship, such persons may not be eligible.
The salary of Senior Police Records Clerk, Typing shall be determined from time to time by the Township Committee and shall be paid in accordance with the Salary Ordinance of the Township of Lacey.[1]
