A. 
There shall be a Department of Public Works, the head of which shall be the Director.
B. 
The powers and duties of the Department are to:
(1) 
Prepare plans and specifications for assigned municipal public works or improvements;
(2) 
Maintain and repair municipal buildings and properties.
A. 
Within the Department there shall be a Division of Engineering, the head of which shall be a professional engineer licensed in the State of New Jersey.
B. 
The powers and duties of the Division are to:
(1) 
Provide engineering required by any department, office or agency of the Township as directed by the Mayor;
(2) 
Review applications for and issue street opening permits pursuant to Township ordinances.
A. 
Within the Department there shall be a Division of Roads, the head of which shall be the Superintendent of Roads.
B. 
The powers and duties of the Division are to:
(1) 
Maintain, clean, clear and repair all Township roads and bridges;
(2) 
Maintain and repair storm sewers, drains and culverts under the Township jurisdiction;
(3) 
Supervise the administration of road lighting contracts with the Township;
(4) 
Install and maintain traffic and other signs.

A. 
Within the Department there shall be a Division of Parks and Forestry, the head of which shall be the Superintendent of Parks and Forestry.
B. 
The powers and duties of the Division of Parks and Forestry shall be divided between two areas of responsibilities, parks and trees, to be supervised by the General Parks Supervisor and the General Tree Supervisor, respectively, and shall include the following:
(1) 
Adopt suitable rules and regulations for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of parks and municipal grounds with the approval of the Mayor. Any person who shall violate any rule or regulation shall be in violation of this chapter.
(2) 
Enforce Township ordinances, rules and regulations pertaining to the planting, maintaining and removal of trees and plant life.
(3) 
Provide advisory opinions and inspection services on landscaping to Township departments and agencies.
(4) 
Maintain and repair playfields and playgrounds and recreational areas.

The hourly fee for weekend and evening transportation services provided by omnibus drivers of the Township Department of Public Works shall be $58.
