The discharge, firing or use of any gun, pistol, firearm or weapon of
any description whatsoever at any place whatsoever in the Township is hereby
specifically prohibited.
The Township Council may, upon proper application being made to the
Township Council, give specific permission to a person for limited periods
of time in certain places of the Township to discharge or use a gun, pistol,
firearm or weapon in the Township for sport, recreation or the protection
of property. The granting or denial of any permission under this section shall
be in the complete and sole discretion of the Township Council.
A.
Any person desiring to make application under § 162-2 for the specific permission shall file with the Police Department of the Township a proper application for same provided by the Police Department at Police Headquarters. This application will then be investigated by the Police Department, and its recommendations will then be made available to the Township Council at the next regular meeting of the Township Council, at which time the Township Council will take action on the application. No permission will be given unless the applicant specifically states in the application where the discharge, firing or use of the gun, pistol, firearm or weapon is to take place and for what period of time and if on land other than land owned by the applicant. The applicant must then accompany his application with specific written permission from the owner or owners of the land set forth in the application, and each application shall be accompanied by a photograph of the applicant.
B.
All firearm permits shall be for a period of one year
from May 1 to April 30, and all permits issued on and after May 1 in any one
year shall expire on April 30 of the following year.

Excepted from this chapter are the following:
Any person or persons discharging, firing or using any gun, pistol, firearm or weapon of any description whatsoever contrary to the terms of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine as stated in Chapter 1, § 1-17. The court may also, in its discretion, suspend the permit of any person convicted hereunder.
