[Amended by Ord. No. 90:66; 12-20-2005 by Ord. No. 2005:31]
The notice shall substantially direct the owner or tenant of lands to whom it is addressed to cut within 10 days after service thereof, under the direction of the Superintendent of Parks and Forestry, the brush, hedges or other plant life growing within 25 feet of the intersection of two roadways and/or within 10 feet of any roadway to a height of not more than 2 1/2 feet or to a height that maintains proper sight distances determined by the Superintendent of Public Works and/or the Police Department. In the event of his refusal or neglect to do so in the manner directed by the Superintendent of Public Works and within the time herein provided, the Superintendent is hereby authorized and directed to cut such brush, hedges or other plant life in accordance with this article and certify the cost thereof to the Township Council. It shall examine the certificate and, if found correct, shall cause the cost as shown thereon to be charged against the lands of the owner or tenant or, in the event that such cost is excessive, cause the reasonable cost thereof to be charged against the land.
The amount so charged shall become a lien upon the lands affected and shall be added to and become part of the taxes next to be assessed and levied upon the lands, the same to bear interest at the same rate as other taxes and to be collected and enforced by the same officers and in the same manner as taxes are collected and enforced in the Township.
