The following rules and regulations shall govern the disposal of items which are not capable of being disposed of under the contract between the Incorporated Village of Bellerose and its contract garbage collection service.
Residents desiring to dispose of such items shall notify the Village Clerk, who shall maintain a list of such notifications.
As their schedules permit and upon instruction by the Village Clerk to that effect, the relevant employees of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose shall call upon the residents desiring such removal, inspecting the item or items as to which removal is desired.
If such item or items are said to be capable of being removed by the relevant employees of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose, they shall be so removed and disposed of. There shall be no Village charge or fee with reference to such service. However, in requesting and receiving such service, the resident authorizing same agrees to hold the Village harmless for any damage or injury that might be caused in connection with the removal of such item or items.
If the removal of such item or items is not within the physical capabilities of the employees of the Village or the equipment employed by such employees, the resident requesting such service shall be so notified and then shall make private arrangements for the removal of such item or items.
It is not the intent of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose to remove from a residence items on a large scale such as results from alteration or home improvement work. Such items must be removed by the resident through private arrangements. A determination by the relevant employees of the Incorporated Village of Bellerose shall be final with reference to those items which shall or shall not be removed by the employees.
