Pursuant to § 85 of the General Municipal Law, the
Town of Pendleton will impose a service charge of $20 on all checks
which are rendered for the payment of municipal taxes or other charges
that are subsequently returned by a bank for insufficient funds or
other reasons. The town or its agents may collect the service charge
in the same manner prescribed for the collection of the account for
which the check was tendered. The agent or collector may also require
future payments to be tendered in cash, certified check or cashier's
check.
