Article I Authority Over Appointees

§ 51-1 Authority of Council to fix salaries.

The Borough Council, subject to any restrictions set forth in this article, shall fix the salaries, wages or other compensation of all officers and employees of the Borough not elected by vote of the people. At any time, and from time to time, the Council may change any salary, wage or other compensation so fixed.

§ 51-2 Authority of Council to remove appointees.

The Council reserves the right to remove any and all officers and employees appointed or elected by said Council.

§ 51-3 Limitation on Council's authority.

[Added 4-6-1987 by Ord. No. 943]

The authority of the Council contained in §§ 51-1 and 51-2 is limited to the extent that the subject matter is controlled by any ordinance, contract or collective bargaining agreement.
