GENERAL REFERENCES
Abandoned and junked vehicles — See Ch. 272.
Vehicles and traffic — See Ch. 275.
The owners/operators of a vehicle shall have the wrecker service they wish to respond. (NOTE: The exception shall be as follows: if the service requested would take an extreme amount of time in responding due to distance or other cause, then a closer wrecker service may need to be contacted to clear the scene.) In the void of a preference, then the next available wrecker on the rotation list shall be called. (NOTE: Do not determine the type of equipment to be called, only give details of the vehicles involved and locations or conditions so the wrecker operator may determine the type of equipment he/she needs.)
If additional wreckers are needed, wrecker services located within the town should be called.
A wrecker service may be placed on the rotation list when the it is determined that:
A. 
Their business is located within the village limits.
B. 
They have reasonable tow rates.
C. 
They have and maintain insurance above the normal vehicle insurance.
D. 
They maintain a reliance of responding to calls.
E. 
They refrain from responding to scenes until called.
F. 
They follow the directions of the investigating officers.
These policies do not in any way have bearing on the calls covered by other departments.
The vehicles that may be impounded for evidence or in connection with an arrest or parking violation shall be removed by Spencer's, if available, and shall be removed to a location determined by the investigating officer, dependent upon the circumstances of the situation.
