The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.
A. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to park a vehicle in such a manner that the vehicle may be a hazard to other persons or vehicles.
B. 
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XI (§ 275-43), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
C. 
No person shall park a vehicle at any time between the curb and sidewalk.

No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XII (§ 275-44), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIII (§ 275-45), attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule XIV (§ 275-46) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XV (§ 275-47) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XVI (§ 275-48) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XVII (§ 275-49) at any time between the hours listed in said schedule of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
A. 
No person shall park a vehicle at any time diagonally to the curbline between Canal Street and the Chenango River Bridge.
B. 
No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XVIII (§ 275-50), attached to and made a part of this chapter, except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front thereof nearest the curb.
The locations described in Schedule XIX (§ 275-51), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading zones.
The locations described in Schedule XX (§ 275-52), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as taxi stands.
The locations described in Schedule XXI (§ 275-53), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as bus stops.
No vehicle shall be parked at any time in such places upon or along any public street or highway in the Village of Oxford as may be designated by signs or peace officers as temporarily closed to parking during any emergency.

The parking of vehicles in the Village parking lot(s) for more than 24 consecutive hours is hereby prohibited. In the event of violation of this provision, any officer, employee or agent of the Village may remove such vehicle or vehicles and place the same in storage with all expenses incidental thereto to be chargeable to and payable by the owner of said vehicle.
A. 
The parking areas in Schedule XXII (§ 275-54), attached to and made a part of this chapter, as parking for handicapped only shall be limited to the exclusive use of handicapped persons.
B. 
Said designated area shall be marked distinctly in such manner as to be visible from such space by a sign known as the "international wheelchair symbol" or like symbol, and, by way of further designation, the curb fronting said areas shall be painted blue.

C. 
Parking in said designated areas shall be limited to those vehicles which display a license plate which signifies that the owner or occupant is handicapped. In the event that the vehicle does not display such license, a letter from a physician certifying that the driver or occupant of said vehicle is handicapped or disabled shall suffice under the terms of this section.
D. 
The terms "handicapped" and "disabled," as used in this section, shall be defined as either having a physical condition requiring the use of a wheelchair, artificial limb, crutch, cane or walker or having a physical disease which makes it difficult or impossible to walk more than 50 feet without shortness of breath or danger of impairment of health.
E. 
It shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing any vehicle in the area or space designated for use by the handicapped.
