Editor's Note: This local law also provided
that it shall supersede in its application to the Town of Van Buren
Town Law § 20, regarding the Comptroller's term of office,
and Town Law § 23 and Public Officers Law §§ 3
and 30, regarding the qualifications of the holder of the office of
Comptroller in the town.
A.Â
The creation and existence of the position of Comptroller
of the Town of Van Buren, as established by resolution of the Town
Board of the Town of Van Buren on January 10, 1996, is hereby confirmed.
B.Â
The authority and duties of the Comptroller of the
Town of Van Buren shall include all authority and duties conferred
under § 34 of the Town Law, and such other authority and
duties as may be specifically conferred from time to time by further
local law or resolution of the Town Board.
C.Â
The annual salary of the Comptroller of the Town of
Van Buren shall be in such amount as may be established from time
to time by resolution of the Town Board.

The term of office of the Comptroller of the Town of Van Buren
that begins January 1, 2023, and continuing for each and every such
term thereafter, shall be two years.

To qualify to hold the office of Comptroller
of the Town of Van Buren, the holder thereof shall be a resident of
the County of Onondaga, State of New York, or an adjacent county.
