A.
The provisions of this article shall apply to the offices
listed and described in the following subsection which may be amended from
time to time, by resolution, of the Board of Trustees and any other appointive
position, except regular member or alternate regular member of a board or
commission, the title, powers or duties of which are designated, classified
or described as a nonelective public office under the provisions of any other
law, statute, local law, ordinance or other mandatory legal enactment having
application in or to the village.
B.
Schedule of appointive offices:
(1)
Village Attorney/Deputy Village Attorney.
(2)
Village Assessor.
(3)
Village Building Inspector/Deputy Village Building Inspector.
(4)
Village Clerk/Deputy Village Clerk.
(5)
Village Court Clerk/Deputy Village Court Clerk.
(6)
Clerk to the Village Justice.
(7)
Village Plumbing Inspector/Deputy Village Plumbing Inspector.
(8)
Village Prosecuting Attorney/Deputy Village Prosecuting
Attorney.
(9)
Village Treasurer/Deputy Village Treasurer/Deputy Village
Clerk-Treasurer.
(10)
Superintendent of Public Works.
(11)
Acting Village Justice.
(12)
Village Zoning Inspector.
No person shall be eligible to be appointed to or shall continue to hold any appointive village office described in or under the provisions of § 26-6 of this article who is not a citizen of the United States, at least 18 years of age and a resident of the County of Nassau in the State of New York; and who, if eligibility to or holding of such office is subject to regulation under the Civil Service Law or any other statute, does not meet the requirements of such law or other statute.
