It shall be unlawful to operate any vehicle
on the following streets in the Town of Fort Edward when the gross
weight on the surface of the road of any such vehicle exceeds 24,000
pounds, where the weight of vehicles permitted on such street is limited
by local law and signs indicating such limitations are posted, except
for the purpose of making delivery or picking up a load on such street,
in which case such vehicle may be driven on such street for not more
than the minimum distance necessary for such purpose:

As used in this article, the following terms
shall have the meanings indicated:
Every device in, upon or by which any person or property
is or may be transported or drawn upon a road, except devices moved
by human power or used exclusively upon stationary rails or tracks.
