It is the purpose of this chapter to abolish the three elected offices
of Assessor of the Town of Marbletown and to establish the full-time appointive
position of Assessor under § 1557 of the Real Property Tax Law of
the State of New York.
This chapter is adopted pursuant to § 1557 of the Real Property
Tax Law.[1]

The three elected offices of Assessor of the Town of Marbletown shall
be abolished as of 12:00 midnight on December 31, 1977, and the full-time
appointed position of Assessor under § 1557 of the Real Property
Tax Law shall come into being at the same time. The Town Board of the Town
of Marbletown shall appoint a qualified person to the Office of Assessor at
its monthly meeting on December 14, 1977.
The first term of office of Assessor shall be from January 1, 1978,
to September 30, 1983, unless otherwise changed pursuant to § 1557
of the Real Property Tax Law.
