The purpose of this chapter is to authorize public servants of the Town
of New Hartford to issue and serve appearance tickets in connection with violations
of state statutes or local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the
town which the public servants are authorized or required to enforce.
The following public servants of the Town of New Hartford are hereby
authorized to issue and serve an appearance ticket in the form prescribed
by law with respect to violations of a state statute or a local law, ordinance,
rule or regulation of the Town of New Hartford that such public servants are,
respectively, required or authorized to enforce:
A.
Code Enforcement Officer: building, zoning, planning,
fire prevention and safety, licensing where provided and welfare.

B.
Town police: parking, public health, safety and welfare,
licensing where provided, vehicle and traffic, protection of town property,
enforcement of state statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations
of the town.
C.
Park employees: protection of town property, enforcement
of state statutes, local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the
town applicable to park property and operation.
D.
Foremen, Sewer Department: enforcement of state statutes,
local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the town as they pertain
to the town sewer districts, septic systems and matters of similar nature
within the town.
E.
Dog Control Officer: enforcement of state statutes, local
laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the town applicable to any dog
leash law or licensing provisions.
F.
Department of Engineering: enforcement of state statutes,
local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the town applicable to
any stormwater management local law or ordinance or provisions.

G.
Department of Public Works: enforcement of state statutes,
local laws, ordinances or rules and regulations of the town applicable to
garbage, rubbish and refuse.

An appearance ticket other than for a parking violation shall be served
personally.
