GENERAL REFERENCES
Planning Commission — See Ch. 37.
There is hereby created a committee to be known as the "Lower Providence Township Development Committee," which shall consist of seven members, all of whom shall be appointed by the Board of Supervisors of the township.
Members of the Committee shall serve for a term of two years. Four of the initial directors shall serve a term of two years and three of the initial directors shall serve a term of one year.
A. 
The Committee shall have the following powers and duties:
(1) 
To serve as liaison between the township government and the Montgomery County Industrial Development Corporation (MCIDC).
(2) 
To serve as liaison between the township government and local firms.
(3) 
To conduct visitations to local firms for educational and liaison purposes.
(4) 
To research and compile listings of existing buildings available for sale or lease to commercial and industrial firms.
(5) 
To research and compile listings of vacant sites suitable for commercial and industrial construction.
(6) 
To conduct prospective commercial and industrial project representatives on tours of available sites and buildings.
(7) 
To draft a development policy statement (consistent with the current Comprehensive Plan) for examination by the Board of Supervisors of the township.
(8) 
To make periodic reports on the Committee's activities to the Board of Supervisors.
(9) 
To participate in the Municipal Development Plan of the Montgomery County Industrial Development Corporation.
B. 
The Committee shall have no power or authority to expend any moneys without prior approval of the Board of Supervisors, which moneys, if authorized, shall be disbursed under the supervision of the Township Manager.
C. 
The Committee may invite any person or persons to appear before the Committee and to participate in its discussions.
