There is hereby adopted and ratified, pursuant to the authority aforesaid,[1] an agreement for intergovernmental cooperation, to be known as
the Municipal Drug Task Force Agreement (hereinafter referred to as "Agreement").

This Agreement is entered into pursuant to the provisions of 53 P.S.
§§ 483 and 485,[1] relating to intermunicipal cooperation and governmental functions.

The purposes and the objectives of the intermunicipal agreement entered
into hereby are as follows:
A.
To enhance the coordination of drug investigations in
the Montgomery County area.
B.
To provide for mutual police aid across jurisdictional
and municipal lines to enable police to more effectively enforce the provisions
of the narcotics and illegal drug laws and thereby preserve the safety and
welfare of the Lower Providence Township area and the general surrounding
environs and municipalities.
C.
To have available for use throughout the territorial
limits of all the municipalities participating in this mutual agreement, the
services of police employed by any and all of said municipalities under the
conditions set forth and in compliance with the Municipal Police Jurisdiction
Act, 42 Pa.C.S.A. § 8953.
The Agreement entered into hereby shall be subject to all the conditions
and terms specified and set forth in the Municipal Police Cooperative Agreement,
which is attached hereto and incorporated by reference herein, including the
manner and extent of financing the Agreement, the organizational structure
necessary to implement the Agreement, the powers and scope of authority delegated
in the Agreement and the manner in which property, real or personalty, shall
be acquired, managed or disposed of.
