GENERAL REFERENCES
Police Department - See Ch. 40.
The Lower Providence Township Building Inspector, Fire Marshal, Zoning
Officer and Plumbing Inspector are hereby granted such police powers as may
be necessary to file complaints, informations and citations before the appropriate
District Justice. The purpose of this grant of power is to comply with recent
amendments to the Rules of Criminal Procedure.
The grant of the above power to the above-named Lower Providence township
officials shall not in any way be deemed to confer upon them any rights, duties
or obligations of police officers of Lower Providence Township, with the exception
of those powers necessary to properly administer their township functions.
They shall not be considered policemen under the terms of the Police Tenure
Act.[1]
